Welcome to Gateways' latest themed volume, 'Urban youth: Engaging young people and their futures in African cities'. This important volume interrogates different ways and means of understanding the lived realities, concerns and aspirations of Africa's urban youth. Articles showcased in this volume - guest edited by Drs Laura Nkula-Wenz, Rike Sitas, and Mercy Brown-Luthango from the African Centre for Cities, University of Cape Town, South Africa - not only push the envelope in terms of conceptual debates but also reflect in unconventional ways on various experimental methods of co-production.
