Abstract

This paper aims to develop an analytical framework different types of political coalitions between unions and community organisations. It presents a four part framework that categorises different types of coalitions according to their form and power, and describes the possibilities and limitations of each.

Amanda Tattersall, Sydney University

Amanda Tattersall is a PhD student at the University of Sydney. Her PhD is on Community Unionism a strategy for union power under neoliberalism. She has a background in social movements and the union movement and is currently a research fellow at Cornell University.
