Abstract

Literacy educators world-wide will be saddened to hear of the death of Professor Alison Lee following a tough struggle with pancreatic cancer. Alison has been one of the editors of Literacy and Numeracy Studies since 1994 and her commitment to ensuring its quality and its future will be much missed.

Rosie Wickert, Independent Scholar

Rosie Wickert has extensive experience in adult education and training, with a particular interest in adult education policy. Rosie was a Professor at the University of Technology Sydney where she trained numerous adult educators, furthered research activity in language and literacy education and managed a number of university wide change initiatives. Rosie’s particular area of expertise is adult language and literacy education policy as evidenced by her multiple publications in that field, including the ground breaking first national survey of adult literacy in Australia, ‘No Single Measure’ in 1989.
