Abstract:
Searching for paradoxes and contradictions while
applying Bolman & Deal's [3] "reframing" analysis
to interviews from Australian households
possessing a large amount of information and
communication technology (rCT) revealed
contradictory effects in households adopting rCT
and home-based working. This paper identifies
some of these changes and contradictions when
viewed through structural, human resource,
political and symbolic frames. The findings are
intended to generate further research, assist
practitioners in understanding some of the
complex and contradictory changes occurring in
the household workplace, and guide employers,
home-based remote workers, and household
members in preparing for home-based working.
