Abstract:
Project management is being recognized as a significant factor in achieving
goals of both public and private enterprise, with application extending from delivery of
physical infrastructure to design and implementation of major organizational change
initiatives. Associated with growing interest in project management are demands from
shareholders, clients, government and the public for increased accountability for delivery
of business benefits and evidence of project management competence of people,
processes and systems. Simultaneously, in a global arena made possible by information
technology, enterprises recognize the need to ensure both global and local
competitiveness through alignment of corporate project management competence to
global standards.
