| dc.description.abstract | Majority of engineering projects involves significant paperwork, manual checking, validation, and documentation. Information and communication technologies could improve the engineering documentation efficient, effective, and its managing structure more sustainable. This paper reports on the development of a Computerized document system, with a re-engineered documentation procedures for a construction company to align the business objectives of the Owner, Consultant, and Resident Engineer, and to tackle the problems in a costeffective manner. This proved to be successful in addressing the threat of prolonged construction claims litigation between the Owner and the Contractor. The procedures could be considered as a starting points and is suggested to be used as a foundation for quality improvement wherever huge data flow and audit trail/responsibilities need to be documented. | en_US |
