| dc.description.abstract | This paper discusses the relationship between the quality of recycled concrete aggregate (RCA) from a recycling plant and the quality of concrete produced when the natural coarse aggregate by weight was either partially or fully replaced with RCA The properties of recycled concrete aggregate varied noticeably due to the variation in the attached mortar content. With reference to the control concrete with natural aggregate, the recycled aggregate concrete with 50% RCA showed 29% increase in 56-day drying shrinkage, 32% reduction in elastic modulus and 7% reduction in 91- day compressive strength. When the RCA content was increased to 100%, strength and elastic modulus were marginally reduced and shrinkage was increased by additional 10%. The results showed that the variation in the quality of RCA had marginal influence on the properties of recycled aggregate concrete. | en_US |
