Abstract:
Magnetization measurements at 10 K on the dc demagnetized ferromagnetic intermetallic compounds
Nd3(Fe,Ti)29 and Nd3(Fe,Re)29 are reported and reveal the phenomena of thermal and spontaneous remagnetization.
For both materials, thermal remagnetization is about an order of magnitude larger than the spontaneous
remagnetization. The thermal remagnetization data are fitted using the model of Schumann and Jahn [J.
Magn. Magn. Mater. 232, 231 (2001)], with the modification that the random magnetic field component is
fully correlated between the demagnetization branch and the recoil branch, instead of uncorrelated. A Preisach
approach is used to interpret the observed spontaneous magnetization.
