Abstract:
This paper summarises work in progress
and reports on preliminary results on fault-service
modelling. A clustering of faults is used to model real
faults logged by a cellular communications company
through its operations support system. The model
provides the impact of a fault on services and network.
Currently we are modelling faults obtained
from OSS and using them to identify the degree of
revenue leakage and impact on QoS and Service level
agreements. This provides a basis for an extended
study of the requirements for a distributed OSS.
