Abstract:
With growing interest in the evaluation of Internet information resources, many sets of criteria have been
proposed for evaluation of commercial websites. However, little attention was paid to special characteristics of
electronic service (E-service) in the context of government application. An assessment of government E-service
websites has direct relevance to improving the quality of government services. The main objective of this paper
is to establish the characteristics of Australian government E-service websites. This study is based on a
questionnaire-based survey, which involved an investigation of Australian government websites.
