Abstract:
n analysis of a novel structure hybrid excitation synchronous generator (MESO) was presented, which consisted
of a pemanent magnet part as the major component, and an electrically - excited part as the assistant component, and
hence possessed the advantages of both the PM and electrically - excited genertors To accurately detemine the machine parameters, three - dimensional (3D) finite element analysis was conducted to solve the magnetic field distribution in the electrically - excited part, which was quite complicated and 3D. An equivalent electrical circuit was derived to calculate the generator
performance, such as the external characteristic or the relation beween the output milage and the load A hybrid excitation
PM synchronous generator prototype has been constructed and the expermental results validated the theoretical calculations.
