Abstract:
New developments with digital video and editing software have facilitated
the use of student-generated video to enhance teaching and learning. The
project discussed in this paper investigated the value of such use for
enhancing pedagogy in K-12 schools. The collaborative project between
academics from a NSW university and Apple Computer Australia
identified, examined and analysed pedagogical practices in relation to use
of this technology in five case schools. This paper will focus on the
perspectives of the teachers in the study and their rationale for using
student-generated digital video in their classrooms. It will also analyse
important contextual factors in the schools which contributed to
successful practices with digital video.
