Abstract

In recent years a range of policy instruments have been introduced to Australian vocational education and training with the intention of strengthening the place of formal learning and assessment occurring in workplaces. The reasons for these changes are many and varied but are usually justified as reflecting a changing set of requirements from employers and employees alike.
