dc.description.abstract Learning objects are seen here a providing a dual framework. One is the flexibility needed to reuse learning material in different environments. The other is a framework for reusable software agents that can support learners in these environments. The combination of learning objects and software agents is particularly important for personalized life-long learning to enable learners to easily set up their own learning environments. This paper proposes a way to combine learning objects and software agents into an integrated support architecture and present it in a web supported learning space. Software agents assist learners to create a learning environment for a specified need using reusable learning objects to synthesize that environment. en_US
