dc.description.abstract For the flat wireless sensor networks, we investigate the optimization problem of the routing path based on the metrics: distance, power and link usage to maximize the lifetime of the sensor networks. We employ the well known fuzzy inference systems (FIS) for the selection of the best node, from the candidate nodes, in order to forward packet to the sink. Simulation results show that network lifetime can be improved by employing the optimized routing protocol. en_AU
