Applying syntax, semantics and aesthetic checks in verifying and validating the quality of UML models

Abstract

The quality of software design models can be achieved by verifying and validating the syntactical correctness of the model, the semantic meanings behind the model and the aesthetic balance of the model. This paper discusses these three crucial aspects of model quality and demonstrates their application to UML-based software models.
