Abstract:
Australian investment managers are significant participants within the financial services sector. According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics, the size of the Australian investment management industry was in excess of $A6SS billion at 31 March 2002. Considering that the Australian equities component of aggregate assets continues to be the most significant individual asset class within diversified multi-sector portfolios, the importance of the domestic shares sector cannot be understated.
