Focus and Scope

Public Space: The Journal of Law and Social Justice is a peer reviewed, multi media, online, law journal which draws on cross disciplinary research and scholarship to address social justice issues of immediate and wide ranging concern.

Public Space also includes an Open Space for non refereed contributions, including reviews, links to other journals or conferences, and discussion.

Public Space is published twice a year in open access form by the Faculty of Law of the University of Technology, Sydney and UTSepress.

Peer Review Process

All articles submitted to Public Space are reviewed by two independent peer referees who are qualified experts in the subject field. Authors and reviewers remain anonymous. Reviewers' recommendations are taken into consideration by the editors in determining publication and revisions.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

How to submit an item to Public Space

The first step in submitting an article to Public Space is to register as an author.

Follow this link to the registration form and after filling in your personal details select the ‘register as author’ button.

The next stop is to go back to the homepage and log into your account. You can then go to ‘My Journals>Author>Start the Submissions Process’ to upload your item. Once uploaded, your item is placed in the submission queue where is can be peer reviewed and sub-edited. Your item is then placed in the submission review queue for the author to revise and resubmit if necessary.

For audio or video files the maximum size that can be uploaded is 20mb per item.
