Abstract

As a response to the call to revisit our interest in third sector organisations and the wider role of civil society, this panel/workshop will consider aspects of disseminating and publishing third sector research. The panel/workshop will explore conference styles and formats (including the trend to e-conferences), web-based publishing, scholarly journal publishing and book publishing. A short developmental perspective will be given in the context of our region, that is, where we come from and what is the current context. This will be followed by presentations on strategic issues facing researchers and practitioners and practical strategies for deciding where and how to publish, gaining support and expertise to publish, and maximising quality and impact. The presenters/facilitators will be drawn from experienced conference organisers, web publishers, journal editors and book publishers. The panel/workshop will be particularly targeted at postgraduate students, early career researchers and practitioners as researchers.
